Known as the “King of Herbs,” the Tianshan Snow Lotus is rare and mysterious — admired by many, seen by few.

On the evening of July 23, Golden Days International Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer, Mr. Zhu Mingjun, hosted a livestream tour from the company’s newly established Tianshan Snow Lotus Tissue Culture Base, located at an altitude of 1,800 meters. Through this special “cloud journey,” audiences from around the world witnessed the breathtaking scenery and the scientific wonder of this national-level innovation project.

Six Hours of Trekking — Just to Meet the Snow Lotus

The new base, nestled deep within the mountains near Ku’erdning, required a six-hour mountain trek to reach. Mr. Zhu personally led the visit, showing viewers vast fields of green stretching into the horizon. The site, abundant with century-old rare plants, has been designated as a World Intangible Heritage Biological Reserve.

Though it was 8 p.m. during the livestream, the mountain base remained aglow with golden sunlight. With a basket of Snow Lotus seedlings in hand, the Chairman personally joined the research team in transplanting them into the earth.
Each seedling, meticulously cultivated in the laboratory, was carefully placed into the soil — returning to nature and beginning a new cycle of life.

While watching the transplanting process, observant viewers noticed that the base was covered with many types of grass and plants surrounding the Snow Lotus plots. Blooming Once Every Four Years — Awaiting the Snow Lotus Blossoms

Some viewers asked why no Snow Lotus flowers were seen during the livestream.
Although it is the usual blooming season, the Snow Lotus traditionally flowers only once every six years.
Through years of persistent research and innovation, the Golden Days scientific team has successfully shortened the blooming cycle to four years, paving the way for an earlier and more sustainable flowering process.

(In 2023, the Snow Lotus flowers at the old base were already in full bloom, while those at the new tissue culture base are expected to blossom next year.)

Since the new tissue culture base was launched in 2023, it means that by this time next year, the entire mountain will be covered with blooming Snow Lotus flowers.
